Bromley Council on Ageing>> Older Peoples Panel
The work of the Older Peoples Panel
The work we do to promote the involvement of older people as service users and carers is particularly in demand due to new national policy agenda. The Older Peoples Panel was established by Council on Ageing to facilitate debate and consultation.
Recently the Panel has, through presentations and discussion, considered issues such as The Kings Fund Inquiry - The Business of Caring and the Mayor of London's Stategy for Older People.
The panel meets four times during the year to discuss issues of current interest to older people and to respond to current consultations by Bromley Council or Bromley Primary Care Trust.
The panel is often asked to provide representatives to join other consultative groups for their input on various policies and services. Full support and training is given to ensure effective representation.
Our members have identified a range of benefits from their involvement in the panel, including:-
